Like a Phoenix
I have been stopping in Charlton every 2-3 weeks or so to check on progress for the rebuilding of the
Charlton Tavern. Completely destroyed with the exception of one chimney the loss was a blow to the people -
the "Heart of Charlton" lay in smoldering ruin.
But the spirit of the people and the Maloney family are turning the
dream of rebuilding into a reality. I thank the workers who graciously allowed me inside to get a couple of
photos...as it progresses I will take more pictures hopefully, but not post any more inside pictures until well after the
reopening. In other words..you really should go and see it for yourself! The workmanship is incredible!
I
will add more pictures of the outside every couple of weeks...but what a great feeling seeing the tavern take shape once again!
