Garden Tour - Caroline Kozubel

"I consider my garden a work in progress. I am constantly moving things around to make it more pleasing to the eye. My objective when I started was to have flowers blooming from early spring through late fall. My randomly planted perennials display a variety of texture, color and size. In early spring, I look forward to grape hyacinths, tulips, daffodils and crocus sprouting from their bulbs, followed by a display of white candytuft, pink primroses, blue forget-me-nots and pink and lavender creeping flax. The bushes of lilacs, weigela, spirea and a white dogwood follow. Pink and white bleeding heart bushes, pink and burgundy peonies, as well as a variety of azalea, poppies and lily of the valley add to the explosion of color. A variety of iris clumps and hosta are scattered throughout the garden. Many-colored lupine, astilbe, shasta daisies, black-eyed susan, delphinium, flax and cone flowers adorn the space. Liatris, hollyhocks and a variety of early and late day lilies, columbine, pink spirea, lady’s mantle, rose bushes, rose of sharon, foxglove, coral bells, rose campion , as well as many other species add to the explosion of color and texture. In the fall, a variety of mums, sedum, aster and late bloomer pink mums dot the landscape. In addition, annuals are added to add depth and interest."
