Carol considers herself an amateur gardener. All or most of her plants have been done by trial and error. She wanted to grow trees and perennials that would bloom each year to avoid buying large quantities of annuals, as she had done in the past. She also integrated evergreen bushes and shrubs to be enjoyed in the wintertime. She used ornamental grasses in various places which also look good in winter.
