Garden Tour - The Gardens at Union College

Jackson's Gardens; An 8-acre garden originally cultivated circa 1830 by Isaac Jackson. It now consists of smaller gardens, as well; wildflower, rhododendron, herb, thyme, asian, evergreen and the primary formal perennial gardens. Jackson's Garden is the oldest cultivated garden on a U.S. campus. NOTE: More photos of Jackson's Garden can be found in the Gardenlady Picture Index.

Mrs. Perkins' Garden: Located at Stoller Circle as an entrance to the Rathskellar, Mrs. Annie Perkins, wife of a chemistry professor, cared for this garden in the early 1920's.

Octopus Garden: An organic vegetable garden run by student, staff and faculty volunteers began in Spring, '08. Produce grown in this garden is donated to the Schenectady Food Pantries as well as used in the Colleges' organic Café and Marketplace.
