Joseph Popp Butterfly Conservatory
On Thursday, my friend Pat and I took off to visit the
Joseph Popp Butterfly Conservatory in Oneonta, NY.
The weather was great for travel, and they are only a little over an hour away.
While smaller than Magic Wings, this conservatory had a most amazing array of beautiful birds, iguanas, turtles, koi, and a gecko in
addition to the butterflies. You can't use flash photography in the conservatory so I took a LOT of photos to allow for
the blur you can get trying to photograph the quick-moving birds. We had a grand day, and it was a perfect way to spend the day. On the
second page you can see Pat getting her shot, and me with a friend...a large Walking Stick. They grow 'em big somewhere!
