Snow in October
On the last Saturday in October, I gave one of my retreats at the
Dominican Retreat and Conference Center . We had a little snow a couple of nights before, and more snow was predicted
to fall starting in late afternoon and through the evening. Fortunately, the snow held off until the retreat was over ...starting around 4 PM. From my vantage point in
the Windmill, I watched the flakes swirl and build up through the evening.
I was thankful that we did not lose power as some places did, and no trees came down from the
weight of the snow on their leaves. But morning brought incredible beauty, as you can see.
