The Garden Lady - Old Thoughts 2006
Image of Bleeding Hearts

December 30, 2006 - New Year...

peace
Some may be looking for pics from the Coffee House gathering, they will be up soon, please check back!

Otherwise, I quickly made this little picture using an open hands sculpture that is in one of the spiritual direction offices at the Retreat Center. It caught my eye once and I took the picture. Then today, I nabbed a world image off the web and put it all together. May this old world find peace in '07.

As an aside - its snowing today. Not a lot, but enough to coat the grass. It is quite dark for 2PM, perhaps we will get more!

December 24, 2006 - Merry Christmas...

nativity image
It is Christmas Eve Day, and all of the last minute things are getting done. It looks like it will be a green Christmas, which is good news if you travel. To all of you and yours from all of us - have a very Merry Christmas, and a new year of health and blessings.

My Christmas Card for you is here.

December 17, 2006 - Busy Days...

I think I am finally making inroads on some of the things on my massive list. Christmas always brings its own particular work, and all day I've been here getting things done. So now, 12 of my pictures are framed to give (small pictures) and all the gift tags are done. Cards I made as gift sets are also done - all I have to do is wrap everything.

December 11, 2006 - Holiday Happenings...

...and otherwise. It's been a busy time around here, and I am finally catching up on some pictures and entries. I have listed them below, starting with our Parish's Centennial Kickoff Brunch, then a trip to Holiday on the Avenue, and a pleasant stroll through the Christmas display at Experience and Creative Design in Schenectady. External links are on the photo pages themselves. Enjoy!

December 7, 2006 - New Life...

grandniece
This is my great niece, who is scheduled to make a debut at the beginning of May 2007. The proud parents sent this over, and of course, I have to show her off! Isnt life amazing?

December 2, 2006 - A walk down Jay Street...

Jay Street
Thanksgiving is over, and to a lot of people, the Christmas shopping has begun. I thought it might be interesting to take a walk down Jay Street and get some night shots - or rather, Mar had emailed looking for some and it was a good idea! It was quiet as it was a Monday night but the colorful shops more than made up for the lack of people. Come on along, pictures are here.

November 23, 2006 - Thanksgiving...

thankful
Actually, it is 9:30 PM on Thanksgiving Eve, I just got back from a job, the house is ready for tomorrow and I will be too. Have a safe and wonderful holiday, everyone!

November 19, 2006 - Fun in Service...

Today, we went over to help out with a Thanksgiving Food Basket assembly coordinated by Concerned for the Hungry.

It was an amazing day and heartening to see so many volunteers, especially the kids, working to help families less fortunate. We spent about 4-1/2 hours there and pictures are here.

November 12, 2006 - An Evening Out...

The Volunteer Appreciation Night page is up! Come on along and join in the fun...pictures are here.

November 11, 2006 - Veteran's Day...

It was a busy day chore wise today and on my way to the store I saw a gathering of Veterans placing wreaths at one of the local monument sites. I wished I had checked the local pages to get there - there was a pretty nice crowd for a warm Saturday. But it didnt stop me from taking a minute to add my silent "thanks". Without those brave men and women, we wouldnt have the life we do.

In other news, I attended a Volunteer Appreciation night on Wednesday night. Pictures should be up soon, stay tuned!

October 29, 2006 - Growing all the time ...

On a rainy Saturday, it's always nice to find something fun to do, and support your friends too. I got over to see my friend Mar's new shop and brought my camera to get some shots of the place. What a wonderful job she and Heather, her business partner, have done. I wish them the best of luck, and invite you to come and see for yourselves! Pictures are here.

October 23, 2006 - Autumn at Sally's...

Last week, I had the chance to get back to visit my friend Sally and see how the fall colors looked over at her place. Even though it was cloudy out, it didnt dampen our spirits, or that of the ducks and geese. We had a great walk, a great lunch, and I also put up some pictures of her new cat Lucy. Come on out and play...pictures are here.

October 16, 2006 - Aunt Katie Does it Again...

Saturday was the Autumn Open House at Aunt Katie's Attic! It's always fun at Katies - and I have a few pictures up, and on that page is a link to those and more pictures at Webshots. Come on along for more good times...pictures are here.

October 12, 2006 - Finally!!!...

I put up a page with pictures listed in categories. Now, there is a little more order to Gardenlady in that I've created a picture index. You can access it via the sidebar or here.

October 12, 2006 - Fall comes to the great Northeast...

I've been pretty busy lately running all over here and the lower to mid-Adirondacks in search of color.

And, I found some! We've had some lovely places to discover and in between charging the camera and other necessary obligations, I gathered some pictures to share with you. Come along and enjoy some Autumn pictures.

October 5, 2006 - And on and on it goes...

I have so much to catch up on that it will take forever!

Soon, I will have a page up on some of the fall sights. I've been getting out whenever I can lately, including trips to points north, and a trip to Howe's Caverns with family. I have also been toying with the idea of oragnizing my pages a little better. Perhaps a page of links to the different pages by category? As soon as I find the time! For now, we're well, Autumn is creeping down from the north, and I'm getting things ready for winter.

September 27, 2006 - More Than Just Desserts...

Sunday night, I attended the annual fund raiser "More Than Just Desserts" at the Dominican Retreat and Conference Center in Niskayuna. Held a little earlier this year the event was nonetheless well attended by faithful supporters of this wonderful center.

As an added treat, this year we had an awesome classical guitarist, John Charles Cooke. Great music, great food and more...well, just take a peek. Pictures are here.

September 22, 2006 - Girls night out...

Need a little comic relief? Wednesday night was "Girls Night Out" Aunt Katies Attic and as you can just imagine a silly time was had by one and all. Check out the fun! Pictures are here.

September 21, 2006 - Soroptimist International news...

A new page has been added to Gardenlady - you will notice on the sidebar just under the "Gardens and Gazebo's" icon, a link to the newly created pages for Soroptimist International of Schenectady.

These pages will highlight upcoming events such as the "Best for Women" Evening. and hopefully more. This is another great cause to support - please check out their pages both on my page, and here.

September 11, 2006 - We Remember...

Image   Enough said.

September 3, 2006 - Coffee House Update...

Time is getting closer for the benefit concert for the Camp Abilities benefit concert to be held on October 8th. The driving force behind the concert is my friends at the Village Coffee House on Mohawk Avenue. Proceeds from the concert will benefit Camp Abilities, enabling the camp to continue offering it's programs to blind children. A worthy cause - and I'm hoping it is a huge success!

The Gardenlady is the proud hostess of the Coffee House pages, check them out! And, if you're in the area, stop in and say hello! By the way, they were featured in the Albany Times Union - great story by Dan Higgins!

August 29, 2006 - Memories...

Finally, all of the pictures are sorted, and some selected for the site.

The retreat is still very much alive in my soul, as I'm sure is the case with the other people I shared the week with. The pages I put up are arranged so the first 3 pages are of the Lake and area in general, and the last 2 pages are of some of the activities. Come on along, relax, and enjoy the Nature Retreat pictures.

August 26, 2006 - Back Home Again...

I just got back from a week away - attending (and also contributing a small part) a Nature retreat at Pyramid Lake. The weather was quite cooperative considering the time of year. We had cool nights and some passing showers but overall it was just about perfect weather. I will have some pictures up soon however I have over 450 (and that is pared down) to choose from. It was unusual to be up there and part of a group as I normally go alone but I met some absolutely wonderful people. With any luck, sometime later in the week I will have pictures and notes online.

For now I finished putting everything away and catching up on laundry. Things are back to normal.

August 19, 2006 - Adirondacks!...

Image of Brant Lake This past week, I had the pleasure of visiting some new friends at their summer homes in Brant Lake, NY. Brant Lake is in my beloved Adirondacks, and not far from Pyramid Lake. The lake is every bit as beautiful as I had heard it would be, I got a chance to take a lot of pictures, get out in a kayak, and learn more about my friends. I cant wait to get back up in the fall and get some more pictures but for now, Brant Lake pictures are here for you to see.

Many warm thanks to Leona, George and John for their hospitality! You are super people!

August 13, 2006 - Time off...

It's been busy around here lately, a lot of work getting done and so it's only right that some downtime is coming. Not for too long, but this week I get a chance to visit a lake in the Adirondacks for an overnight stay. For sure, I'll be taking pictures, both for me AND for my hosts.

Needless to say, I'll be happy to visit another place in my favorite mountain range! In other news, I have brand new cable running to my home after the local squirrels chewed through my old cable. I was working online one minute, and off the next. I do have to say Time Warner was great in getting the issue resolved. Thanks, guys!

August 6, 2006 - Everyone loves ice cream...

Today was an absolutely beautiful day - and the Dominican Retreat and Conference Center held their annual Sundaes on Sunday open house. The weather was perfect, the ice cream was wonderful, and the Choir gave two great concerts!

All in all, it was a great day, and I got a chance not only to help out, but to have some free treats! Pictures are here - enjoy!

August 5, 2006 - More Coffeehouse news...

On Friday nights, I usually head over to the Village Coffee House and listen to their acousitcal guitarist, Mark Tommasone. It's always a great way to just unwind, and Mark is one talented and versatile guy! I put a link on the Village Coffee House page, just click on the "Entertainment" link on the sidebar.

August 1, 2006 - Hot, hot, HOT...

I was surprised to look and see how long it's been since I made an entry. Well maybe I can blame it on the heat. We have had hot, humid weather - the kind you might expect further south but it's here. As I write this entry it is 11:24 PM and it is still 85 and the humidity is about 81%. There is a small breeze outside. A small HOT breeze. Even the garden seems a little stressed except for the weeds.

July 25, 2006 - Remember Sally?...

If you're a regular reader, you may remember my visit out to Sally's where she was feeding a whole flock of ducks in her yard. Well, she emailed and said that things were just beautiful out there and would I like to stop out? Mama didnt raise any fools, I grabbed my camera and went out to join her in a walk around her lake, and for lunch. We had a great time, the place is beautiful and pictures are here.

July 21, 2006 - A Walk into History...

Thursday was sunny, I didnt have to be anywhere, so I went out to get pictures of Beardslee Castle (which I will put up later) and I also made a stop at Fort Klock to look around. As luck would have it, I was just in time for a tour given by a wonderfully knowledgeable guide. Pictures are here!

July 13, 2006 - Back to Pyramid Lake...

pyramid life banner
On a hot and sunny Friday around noon, my friend Terry and I set out for our first trip to Pyramid Life Center for a quick break and to just 'be' in it's beauty. Pictures of Pyramid Lake are here. Enjoy!

July 13, 2006 - Just Ramblings...

I cant believe it's been so long since I posted an entry. Well, it's been raining. That excuse is as good as any *grin*

Seriously, it HAS been busy, and I'm about to take a quick recharge trip to Pyramid Lake (just an overnight) so stay tuned for pictures. Also, I put a couple of links on the Village Coffee House page so be sure to check them out. Just navigate from the sidebar and click on 'Links'. See you all in a couple of days! Stay dry and for those close to me, stay COOL.

July 4, 2006 - 4th AND an anniversary...

Today is the 4th...and also Gardenlady is 3 years old today.

Hard to believe sometimes and there have been so many things to write about! Today, the Village Coffee House's new pages are up on site here. I gave them their own look, check it out here.

July 3, 2006 - Fourth of July...

Taking a break from weeding (we have quite a collection as you can imagine) to put up fourth of July greetings. Stay safe, everyone. I made a quick card... check it out here.

June 29, 2006 - The week that was...

Less than one week after taking garden tour pictures, I am now taking pictures of the flooding we have had. Ongoing heavy rains pushed rivers and creeks beyond their capacity and over their banks. We are fortunate in that we didn't get ALL of the rain that was predicted. I cant imagine how much worse it would have been. To get an idea what's around town today, take a look--- flood pictures are here.

June 25, 2006 - Stockade Secret Garden Tour...

This weekend, it was a pleasure to see even more gardens! This time, they were wonderful gardens that are tucked away in the historic Stockade District in Schenectady. The thunderstorms that were predicted did not occur, thankfully, and pages are now up of some of these lovely sanctuaries in the city. Enjoy - pictures are up of the Secret Garden tour

June 21, 2006 - A new place in town...

Coffeeshop lovers, take note! There is a new place in town where you can enjoy exceptional beverages and baked goods, or soup/chili of the day. Denise and Joe have opened the Village Coffee House on Mohawk Avenue and it is well worth the trip! Check out their page at the link previous or from the sidebar. Gardenlady is proud to host their page, and I'll be adding more information so come back often!

June 21, 2006 - More pictures coming soon...

Happy first day of summer! Just a note that there will be pictures after this coming weekend of the Stockade Secret Garden Tour. Information may be found at the Stockade Website and sometime next week a link on this page will show you some of this years' highlights.

And, as usual, the Gardens and Gazebos pictures may be seen by clicking on the logo on the sidebar. Happy browsing!

June 17, 2006 - Garden Tour Pictures are up!...

They're up! Navigate from the sidebar, or here.

June 17, 2006 - Garden Tour Picture update...

I have the pictures chosen and resized, and am "writing" the pages now. Hopefully, in the next couple of days all will be on site. There are 10 gardens- with a page for each garden - and 10 pictures on each page so there will be quite a little tour when all is finished! The tough part was choosing exactly which pictures. So much to see! Stay tuned, it wont be long now.

June 16, 2006 - Garden Tour!...

The day dawned rainy, just like last year, but the Soroptimist Gardens and Gazebos Tour went on as planned and I know I saw quite a few diehard garden lovers at each location.

Originally, I planned on having a couple of pictures of each garden here but that just wouldnt do - too many lovely features to narrow it down that much. SO - I will have a 2006 Gardens page, with links to each of the participant gardens. When each page is added, the addresses on that page will become links to individual pages. This will take a few days. My straw hat is off to the participants, their gardens were just outstanding as always! My thanks to those great women of Soroptimist International of Schenectady County for the chance to be their "official photographer" !

As an aside note, this morning, Gardenlady110's pictures at Webshots (see sidebar for link) passed the half-million page view mark. It is just under a year since these albums were started. Many thanks to all who have visited my albums there!

June 14, 2006 - More Garden Tours...

Today I picked up my ticket for the Stockade's Secret Garden tour, which is being held the weekend after this upcoming Gardens and Gazebo's Tour (see sidebar) To give you an idea of how beautiful this section of Schenectady is, check it out!

Pictures are here.

June 13, 2006 -A couple of sunny days

I don't really have a lot to say, but that never stopped me before!

We have had a couple of sunny days which help dry things out just a little. And, it's only 4 days until the Garden Tour! Soon the camera batteries will be recharged, and I'll have list in hand, eager to see other folks' gardens. OOOOOooo - I can hardly wait!

I'm also going to try and reorganize some of my links on the sidebar. But that is only a plan right now.

June 9, 2006 -What a difference

Just thought I would post pics of the garden in April, May, and now - June. It's like my "Thru the Year" page except that this one is more recent. Plus, I didnt start until later. I should shortly have the 2006 garden page up, including these pictures here.

April May June

June 6, 2006 -What a nice thing to do!

Today's mail brought a note and a copy of the newspaper article about this site from Assemblyman Tedisco! Now, perhaps this is what they do, but isnt it nice that he took the time out of his busy day to send congratulations? I'm still smiling...and thankful.

Image White Marigold June 6, 2006 -Mari-whites

Take a look at this...a WHITE marigold. Something new and different in the Gardenlady garden for 2006.

June 3, 2006 -Aunt Katie's Flea Market

Aunt Katie's Attic is, as I blog, holding their Flea Market today. Quite a few craftspeople and vendors are braving the rain (and it's been torrential on and off today) along with some hardy customers!

Pictures can be found here.

June 2, 2006 -Mariwhites

Now that you're scratching your heads, that is the name my friend Dar gave to the white marigolds that I bought this week at Wells Nursery in Schenectady. I had read about these particular beauties last year when the newspaper ran a story on the relatively new business. By the time I got my occasionally poky butt over there, they were sold out!

But as you can see, I made it there on time this year. Perserverance pays.

May 31, 2006 -Hudson, New York

Pictures of Hudson are up!

May 31, 2006 -Soon - more pics!

Just a note that there were quite a few nice places we saw in Hudson, including one very lovely garden and Olana, a beautiful mansion and part of the State Park System. Add to that, the flea market with vendors at Aunt Katies Attic (see sidebar) this Saturday.

Plus, I'm planting and that means new garden pictures too! Stay tuned!

May 29, 2006 -A Beautiful Place

Mar and I were at it again today, we took off to Hudson and one place we found that is TOTALLY worth mentioning is The Secret Gardener, on Warren Street in Hudson. Ben has an absolutely beautiful place tucked in amid the brick buildings, and I highly recommend you stop by if you are in the area. He doesnt have a web page yet, but you can see his place (and the phone number is on their sign) here

May 21, 2006 - Memorial Day Parade

One wonderful thing about our small town and village is that we DO have some events that are really done up right. The Memorial Day Parade is one of them. The route is maybe a little under a mile down the main street and always is a gala event.

This year we had bright sunshine and a breeze, a good night for a parade. Come on along and enjoy. Parade pictures are here

May 21, 2006 - Congratulations, Deacon Gary!

This was a fairly busy weekend (Social activity) for this Gardenlady, and I know that some of you will be looking for pictures from our new Deacon Gary's celebrations held today. A prior committment interfered with my being able to attend the Ordination, so those pictures I do not have, but ones from his first Mass as a Deacon and a party afterward I DID get. They're 'in process' right now, as some need a little photoshop work to make up for low light situations in the church itself. Keep checking, I hope to have them ready soon! Especially so our Sr. Anne in Pakistan can see.

Congratulations and blessings Deacon Gary and also to his family! You made it!

UPDATE - The wait is over - Pictures are up!

May 18, 2006 - Spring in Round Lake...

Just as I promised, the pictures from my short day trip to Round Lake Village are ready.

I took many pictures, and it was hard to choose which ones would go here. But, I did, and hopefully it is a good enough display of the treasure that is Round Lake.

Pictures are here.

May 17, 2006 - Still Amazed...

Well, the article on my website ran yesterday in the Times Union
and it really was a nice article! I thank Dan Higgins, the reporter and Cindy Schultz, photographer, for making it painless. The article can be seen here. I'm always the one on the other side of the camera, and the one asking a million questions so it was a unique experience.

Of course, I also thank Bill P. - Visit Scotia website. It was his link to my page that got my page noticed. And thanks to all of my friends (old and new) who have sent such kind words, and believed in me! Sheesh, this sounds like the Academy Awards!

So, today it was off to Round Lake to get some later spring pictures. They will be up soon, stay tuned!

May 12, 2006 - Full of Surprises...

I was sitting at my desk, checking my email last night, and one was from an unfamiliar name with the topic "Times Union Reporter". After some careful checking of the return path of the email, I opened it. Lo and behold, the paper found the Gardenlady website and was interested in doing a small piece on my garden and my pages here.

Well, today was the interview with a very nice young man, and tomorrow, a picture. The article will be in the paper Tuesday!

May 9, 2006 - Garden Tour Time!...

Spring is here, things are blooming and our thoughts turn to...gardens!

And that means the Soroptimist Garden Tour, an event that this gardenlady was proud to be part of last year. This year, I am proud to be the host page for the 2006 Garden Tour. Information, and sneak previews can be found here

May 9, 2006 - Parish Dinner!...

I finally got pictures and pages done for our Parish's Resurrection Dinner, which was held on the Sunday after Easter. Nothing like being slow. Everyone had a great time despite rain and as always, pictures are here

May 1, 2006 - Itchy feet...

Bet you thought I got lost!

The truth is, the weather has been gorgeous. In between spring housecleaning and other tasks, I'm out with the camera every chance I get. I have SO many pictures that I decided to just select one or two from each folder and present a whirlwind tour. Hang on, the trip is about to begin and pictures are here

April 22, 2006 - Rest in Peace...

I will step out of my usual mold for just a quick entry....

One problem with getting older is that when people die, it becomes more and more people you know, not your grandparents or your parents' friends. Death becomes more personal. And it is a fact of life, and a part of life. But, when someone you know is brutally murdered you cant look at it in quite the same way.

Marlene was an institution in our local City - she worked her way up from waitress to owner of a successful restaurant. One where you could always get a good Italian meal. I was not REAL close friends with her, but I've known her for 30 years. One of my ink drawings, a small one, hangs in that restaurant. It was a Christmas card I had given to her. On Friday, April 21, Marlene was found dead in her home, stabbed, and her body stuffed under her bed.

Life seems to become more violent as time goes by. And more and more people act out their anger, or whatever, and God help you if you're the target. May God rest her soul - she never deserved that.

April 18, 2006 - A day in the sun

Got out for about 4 hours with Mary Frances, we went up to Still Point to get pictures, and drove around just loving the signs of spring! It was sunny and warm, with some breeze and the air was full of bird calls and flying insects! I'll get some spring pictures up soon, right now I have to sort through the gazillion pictures I've taken the past couple of weeks! Its so good to see flowers again!

April 17, 2006 - Community Cross Walk

Every Good Friday, the churches in our town hold a "Cross Walk" - an ecumenical journey with different reflections each year given at each church or "station". A large wooden cross is carried through the streets from church to church and it is a simple and beautiful way to remember what the season is really about.

Because I have so many pictures, I uploaded them to an album at Webshots, where I have another account. You can access the album here.

April 11, 2006 - Birthday Dinner and Photo op!

On Sunday, April 9, my friend Dar and I, who are celebrating our birthdays, decided to go and see Beardslee Castle and have dinner there, plus take pictures.

It was a great afternoon, a beautiful and unique place, and those pictures can be seen here

April 8, 2006 - Branching out

For the past 2 years or so, friends are encouraging me to market my photos. To an extent, I'm working on that now, with blank greeting cards that are featured at Aunt Katies Attic

Soon I hope to have a page here as well, in the meantime, stay tuned!

April 6, 2006 -Rustic Nature Buyer Days...

Today I went over to check out my friend Mary Frances' table at the Rustic Nature Buyers Days in Saratoga Springs. Caught some nice shots, had fun watching everyone set up and it wasn't a show that individuals would be buying at so I didnt spend money. Well, I usually dont, I can be notoriously cheap (grin). Anyway, here are pictures of my friend...who is really making a name for herself. Cherck out her page on my sidebar - cottagesweetcottage.com

April 2, 2006 -Just for Fun...

Looking for a great place to find that unusual - even eclectic -piece for your home? I got an email from my friend Mary Frances telling me about an open house that I might like to check out. I had a great time looking at everything offered at Aunt Katie's Attic [see sidebar for link] and have a few pictures here as well. Shortly, there will be more pictures on my Webshots page but for now, check out the Anniversary fun at Aunt Katies Attic! .

March 27, 2006 -Day Brightener...

If the ground around you is still end-of-winter dull, you can always go out looking for flowers, cant you! I stopped into the Country Florist in Burnt Hills, and the wonderful folks there didnt mind my taking some pictures of their great shop! Like stepping into another world, the arrangements and containers of fresh flowers are a joy to look at - come on along and visit the Country Florist's creations! .

March 25, 2006 -The Easter Parade...

There is not a lot to take pictures of outdoors yet, so I went over once again to Faddegon's Nursery and took some more pictures of the colorful displays. My thanks again to the staff for being so obliging and letting me get some shots. Enjoy the pictures of the Easter plants and merchandise .

March 15, 2006 -Just Ducky...

I finally got some pictures together of a wonderfully unusual 'backyard'. In the apartment complex where I went to do some computer work, I met a very nice woman, and had a chance to see the pond off of her back patio, and the ducks and geese she feeds. I just love any kind of photo op like this, and just happened to have my camera. Come on along and visit Sally and the ducks .

March 14, 2006 -Artifacts...

On Saturday, Mary Frances and I went exploring again, looking for and finding a great country shop Artifacts Country Store in Melrose. Check out some of the great merchandise available! I know we will be going back, especially in the summer for their Adirondack Music entertainment. What a find!

March 6, 2006 -Finally Yankee Candle...

At long last, Yankee Candle pictures are here. Come on along and enjoy the trip!

February 28, 2006 -Day Trip Pictures...

I finally got some pictures up, you can find the pictures from Magic Wings here now, and hopefully soon, Yankee Candle too.

The weather remains cold and wintery. I'm otherwise getting some cleaning up done in here and preparing for my next class to begin in 2 weeks. One just finished last week - great bunch of people! Time to get busy again, TTFN....

February 23, 2006 -Day Trip...

Sometimes you have to go and LOOK for photo ops, so today, Mary Frances and I went to Magic Wings and Yankee Candle. She had never been to either place.

Well, it was a good week since she was off - she works in the school system - but I didnt realize Massachusetts was off too. We were up to our butts, literally, in wee ones. I did get some shots, and will get them up here. Right now, its time to get some rest!

February 18, 2006 -Big Changes...

The weather had become warm, almost like April. Some of the trees were even budding. I'll get some miscellaneous pix up sometime later. BUT - it is February, and its supposed to BE February.

Watched the weather change in about 15 minutes. Temps dropped to the low 30's from the 50's. The only thing I've ever seen move faster was a tornado. At any rate, the winds came up suddenly and we're back to winter air again. Lots of damage around but here, only had some window-well covers ripped away from the house, and branches down. Today is sunny, windy and cold. As good a day as any to be getting spring housework out of the way. Hey, it's only a month off!

February 12, 2006 -Sweet Greetings...

Just a quick post to leave a Valentine's Day card for you!

February 1, 2006 -Back to the Methodist Church...

I got back to the Scotia Methodist Chuirch to take some updated pictures of the sanctuary and church decorated for Christmas. Once again, I was struck by the beauty of this place, and am happy to have some new Church pictures to share!

February 1, 2006 -A Very Special Evening...

Last weekend, our Parish had a big night. There was a Youth Mass at 5PM in which our own Sr. Anne OP was "sent out" to missionary work in Pakistan. Mass pictures are up, plus pictures from parish potluck dinner pictures as well.

It was a night to remember!

January 28, 2006 -Winter Photo Op...

Not a lot of snow to get pictures of, but my friend and I decided to go out anyway and get some shots. Some winter pictures this past week gave us something to do.

Mary Frances has noted a couple of upcoming winter festivals, we'll have to check them out. Once I get rid of this cold, that is!

January 21,2006 -Hilda's Birthday Pix...

Well, I DID say I would get the pictures up. Justs didnt say exactly when! Hildas party was held on January 7th, and we had a great time. Her promised Party pictures are here.

January 3, 2006 -Happy 2006...

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year, here, it was quiet and snowy. We've had wet, heavy snow, more like spring snow, so it packs down fast and the days have been very gray and dull. But the air feels good, and some of the dried grasses sticking up through the snow made interesting pictures. Come on along for a walk... snow pictures are here.
